Juli Jackson

Visiting Assistant Professor of Film Production  

Juli Jackson is a filmmaker and media artist who creates narrative and nonfiction work focusing on art and creativity’s ability to uplift the individual and impact others forever. They specialize in screenwriting, directing, and experimental film and animation production techniques. They received their Master of Fine Arts in Film and Media Arts from Temple University and their Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of the Arts in Philadelphia. They specialize in screenwriting, directing, and experimental film and animation production techniques. Recipient of the Arkansas Arts Council Independent Film Initiative Grant, Jackson’s first feature film 45RPM, brings together over 40 tracks of garage rock music with live action and hand-painted animation; the film won 13 festival awards, screened internationally, and is distributed by BrinkVision. Jackson is currently developing their TV series, Delta, based on experiences growing up in rural Arkansas. The Delta pilot script was the winner of the 2021 Alfred P. Sloan Student Discovery Prize - recognized for its blend of contemporary agriculture science with historic and folkloric elements.
